Why a buyers agent is important

Many home buyers mistakenly believe that they will do better at negotiating a real estate purchase going solo without the help of a real estate agent. Studies show that most of the time, this just is not true. Actually, quite the opposite is true. Most buyers who have tried it regret it. Studies, in fact, illustrate that contracting wtih a buyers agent can pay handsome “dividends” when it comes to your Portland real estate deal.

It’s nice, of course, that you don’t pay the commissions up front — her fee comes from the seller’s side of the transaction and was no doubt calculated into the asking price of the home. But the most important benefit is that you can save a lot of money on the bottom line when the transaction is finalized.

Contracting with an experienced real estate pro on your side of the transaction when you’re talking about a contract where a lot of money changes hands is simply good idea on its own merit. But add to that the potential boost to your bank account as a result of the expertise an agent can bring to the table and it really ought to be a no-brainer. There are just too many ways to loose money on a deal not to have someone who negotiates Portland real estate purchases day in and day out to keep the trains (and the signature pages) running on time.
