Where will you spend your next vacation? Will you spend a holiday within the United States of America? Have you already updated your legal travel documents and are waiting to board our flight to wherever? Here are a few safety travel measures provided by the US Embassy. Prior to departing your country of residence, you are urged to take the time to register with the designated U.S. Embassy. Give them a copy of your travel itinerary plus color photocopies of your passport. In case it’s necessary to contact you when the unthinkable happens, your holiday whereabouts is assured.

As you travel, thinking of safety in the United States on holiday, it’s wise to remember that laws and the legal system differ from State to State. Become aware of the local laws of the region of the US where you will be vacationing. When you investigate these differences, you’ll be amazed at the differences in each regions legal system. Remember that in the majority of regions within the United States you travel with115 vts at 60 hertz appliances.

Wall sockets throughout most of the US make use of the 115 vlts grid. Your plug will have two parallel flat blades and may as well have a third grounding blade. Its not like on your last vacation to Spain or the Costa Blanca where it all seemed to be much easier and hassle free. Some remote areas of the US will need a converter so you can use personal appliances; it is good to note that in most vacation areas a converter won’t likely be required. In a few areas of the United States there is a type of ‘off-grid’ power transmission called merchant transmission.

These arrangements are third party, and transmit power to more remote regions. These power franchises operate as a fee for service, and it may be helpful if you take a converter with you. Proponents of merchant transmission say that this arrangement will aid in business competition resulting in efficient and lower cost electricity. The reason a power converter may be necessary if that many merchant transmission projects involve DC power as opposed to the more conventional AC transmission.

Another item that think about when holiday making in the United States are the various Spanish dialects.  You’ll encounter Spanish newspapers and other popular media. With this in mind the official language in the USA is English, used in measurements, road signs, environment news and temperature displays. The official system of measurement is based on the older British imperial system.

Just as in your region of the US, throughout the United States it is customary to tip for services. These can average between 10to 20 percent of the total bill before any application sales or goods taxes are added. Just as you would when you travel outside the US never leave suitcases unattended. Avoid becoming a victim of crime. Don’t carry or display large amounts of cash when in public. Should trouble enter your holiday while traveling in the United States contact the nearest authority.
